A Call to Political Responsibility from the Catholic Bishops of the United States
Mercy Volunteer Corps, a lay volunteer program sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy provides opportunities for men and women over the age of 21 to give a year of service to those in need. The emphasis of the program is service, community and prayer. Volunteer possibilities include teaching of nursing, working in homeless shelters, clinics and social service agencies in urban and rural settings throughout the United States.
