Please support Catholic Relief Services.
In 1943, Americans answered God's call, and Catholic Relief Services was born to ease the pain and suffering in a war torn world.  Over 60 years later, parts of our world still lie in ruins from war, floods, famine or other natural disasters all over the world.  Sadly, many poor people still struggle to survive without proper sanitation, running water, education, food and medical care.  You can make a donation of your choice online by clicking on the link above. DIOCESE EMBARKS ON A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

   (A LETTER FROM BISHOP PEPE)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ;

As many of you are aware, the constraints being placed on many of our existing parishes and its clergy by the continuously growing population combined with the growing cost of acquiring land, has made it necessary for the Diocese of Las Vegas to embark on a capital campaign.  This campaign will be entitled, Service: Growing Faith in Our Community and will be geared to raising money for the purpose of acquiring land in communities where there is a pressing need for a new parish.

SENIOR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY

The Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada Retired Senior & Volunteer program offers people age 55 and older to find volunteer opportunities in their communities. RSVP volunteers can serve from several hours to over forty hours a week in organizations that range from hospitals, nutrition programs, youth recreation centers, local police stations, non-profits and education facilities.

RSVP involves seniors in service that matches their personal interests and makes use of their skills and lifelong experiences. Volunteers receive a pre-service orientation, followed by appropriate on-the-job training from the agency or organization where they are placed.

Catholic Charities has been the sponsor for RSVP since its inception in Clark County in 1972. RSVP is funded through the Corporation for National Service, the Nevada Division for Aging Services, United Way and Clark County.

For more information about how you can help, please call Wes Davis, Catholic Charities RSVP Program Manager at 382-0721.

Catholic Charities is one of the largest nonprofit social service providers in the state, offering the most comprehensive range of human services.  Catholic Charities includes diverse programs designed to help people, from infants to seniors, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
