Mass for Shut-Ins

Since 1989 the Las Vegas Diocese has televised Sunday Mass for the elderly, homebound and hospitalized.  Currently Mass is shown from St. John Neumann Parish on Sunday mornings at 7:30 am on KFBT-TV Channel 33  or  (Cox Cable Channel 6).

Christmas Midnight Mass Telecast

Live from Guardian Angel Cathedral

Again this past year KLAS TV Channel 8, in Las Vegas, televised live, the Christmas Midnight Mass from Guardian Angel Cathedral, with the Most Reverend Joseph A. Pepe, Bishop of Las Vegas as Celebrant.

The production team for the telecast was headed up by award winning producer, Michael La Rocca, who also serves as Principal Master of Ceremonies to the Bishop. Tsunami Studios Las Vegas was the production company that filmed the telecast.

Bishop Pepe was joined by three of our Las Vegas Seminarians: Sam Martinez, Shawn Dresden and Jesus Garcia, who served as acolytes. Music was provided by the Cathedral Instrumental Ensemble and the Diocesan/Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Cathedral Musical Director, Debbie Cenna and assisted by Choir Director, Marek Rachelski. Station Casinos was the major sponsor for the telecast.

The 2005 Midnight Mass telecast came in second in the Neilson Ratings. Early rating projections place the 2006 telecast at number one.
